Inner-city roads must fulfill a variety of different traffic and urban planning functions. In the optional course ” Street Design”, knowledge about usage requirements, design principles and street types is taught and solution examples were discussed. In design exercises for parts of the Kirchheimer Vorstadt in Nürtingen, the design methodology from open space planning was specifically transferred to this area of responsibility. Special analysis and design tools for traffic engineering were applied.
